Kadriorg Art Museum to receive a new piano
09. Nov 2017
In
celebration of Kadriorg’s 300th anniversary, Kadriorg Art Museum will receive a
new piano. The new Estonia piano is
considerably larger than its previous counterpart, offering a richer sound
package and a wider spectrum of expression for performers. Construction of the
piano was finished in the spring/summer of this year and thus far the instrument
has been seated in the main hall at Kadriorg Palace for acclimatization
purposes.
Pianist and composer Tõnu Naissoo has all but praise for the new piano: “A very well made instrument, a masterpiece.”
The showcase concert which took place in October 2017 will be followed by a number of Palace Music piano concerts during the season where the new instrument’s scope is demonstrated by musicians from Estonia and abroad.
